I was born in Southern California, and raised in the Pacific Northwest where I started my culinary journey as a teenager working at Neapolitan pizzerias. Graduating high school took me to Washington State University to study business administration. In 2014, a change of heart took me to Seattle, Washington to pursue cooking at a higher level. I worker for James Beard award winning Chef Maria Hines at Tilth restaurant, and later as Chef de Cuisine for James Beard award nominee Dustin Ronspies at Art of Table.
In 2018, I moved to Los Angeles, California and held positions at Fishing With Dynamite, NoMad DTLA, and Sibling Rival at the Hoxton Hotel DTLA before relocating to San Francisco to helm Michelin starred Mourad as Chef de Cuisine. I am an advocate of sustainability, collaboration, and guest first hospitality, and believe supporting local farmers, artisans, and purveyors.
I enjoy shopping at farmers markets and sourcing the best products from our local artisans and purveyors. Cooking clean, hyper seasonal food is where I thrive. With that said, I have an adequate amount of knowledge with nutritionally balanced meals, and an speciality diets. I may be available earlier than 5:30, depending on how close to the city you are located.Read less

Amazing chef. Very professional. Cooks delicious meals. And is great with the kids.
Amazing experience with Chef Rick. His food was a hit with our young children and our guests as well. To be able to cook for kids who are super picky (mostly wanting only snacks) and guests who are self proclaimed foodies is not easy. But Chef Rick made the experience amazing, seamless, and fun.
He’s super efficient and knowledgeable. He didn’t have a problem with any replacements and made everything work. He’s a pro.
As I said above, he’s very fast and VERY professional. And flexible. If some ingredients are missing, he easily replaces them with something else.
Chef Rick is amazing– not only is he a great cook but he is a great communicator, has good recommendations and is great with kids. Highly recommend booking him!
Rick is a brilliant chef and a great person. We loved his food.
Rick is a super star. I love watching how professionals work, be it a driver, a chef, a nanny, a cleaner, an executive – doesn’t matter, it’s always a masterpiece, a work of art. I admire how Rick can cook several things at the same time and have a fast-paced conversation at the same time. And hey, all these things turned out great! Better than in restaurants – and believe me, I’m spoiled with fancy restaurants.
Chef Rick is the best. Love his care in selecting high quality ingredients, his positive energy, professionalism, work ethic, and experience / skill to make everything taste delicious.
