I could always tell when my grandmother was cooking, It was as if the aroma of garlic, onions and ginger being sautéed were as loud as church bells ringing. She brought the tastes of the islands with her in every kitchen she entered. Eagerly I'd sit, watching her every move as she hummed her tunes, waiting to see the magic ingredient or secret technique she'd use to make the food so damn good . It wasn't until years I realized, it was the pure love of cooking that added the extra dash. Whether I am behind the stove in a restaurant with a full house or in your kitchen, I find myself humming, with a slight grin, finding solace in the simple art of cooking, much like my grandmother.
While operating as the head chef for an esteemed restaurant in Central New York, Njeri created “The Vegan Mac Lady”. TVML quickly amassed a cliental and began providing services from corporate catering to weekly dietary-specific meal prep.
As the demand for authentic Afro-Caribbean dietary alternatives and meal preparation grew, TVML sought out to make their delicious meals readily available for their consumers across the US and soon, across the world.Read less
