Growing up, cooking was a major key we young siblings had to learn. As my parents worked really hard, one needed to fulfill that. Never the less, I enjoyed doing it! I felt great and accomplished feeding my siblings and seeing their reactions. Who would’ve known a young’s boy desire and passion to cook was only being sparked. Coming and living in front of thousands and thousands acres of agricultural fields was not only another eye opener but I later saw the actual influence it had on the community and the city, to later finding out it’s influence in other cities, counties and states around my beloved hometown city named ; The Imperial Valley. I saw how food itself is not only great, but great when prepared right, great for the health, great to bring family and strangers together, great way to communicate to others behind the food and a great way to show love! Barbecues have remained a routine every Sunday afternoon at my grandparents house. Having my grandpa retire from the hard labor these fields produce, only gave him great contacts that til this day we get a great blessing to choose from a variety of vegetable crops delivered to his doorstep. The same roots the fields produce is the same that run in my blood, Community!Read less
