12-inch nonstick skillet, Cutting board, Grill, Grill Pan, Kitchen towels, Measuring cups and spoons, Mixing bowls, Mixing spoon, Sharp Knives, Spatula, Top Stove

Ingredients

  • 3 pound 93% lean ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 2 each sweet onion diced
  • 1 each red bell pepper diced
  • 2 teaspoon ground cumin more or less to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes, adjust per heat preference
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder minced
  • 1 cup fresh parsley finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper adjust as needed
  • 2 teaspoon Kosher salt adjust as needed

Instructions

  • Over medium heat, sauté onion in coconut oil until translucent. Add red pepper, cumin, garlic powder, parsley, cayenne pepper, and salt and pepper. Sauté for 5 minutes more, and remove from heat. Once cool, add ground turkey to the mix, and form 5 oz. patties, which roughly translates to a patty that is 3 ½ inches wide by 3/8 inch thick.
  • Prep a cooktop grill pan or outdoor grill to medium high (1 tsp coconut oil optional for cooking burgers). Cook patties for about 4 minutes per side for medium.
  • Burgers freeze well. Make sure to securely wrap & freeze for a back-up meal!
